I’m Craig Cavanagh, a singer songwriter from Liverpool, and music has always been a part of who I am. I released my first EP, Green Eyed Soul, back in 2013. Thirteen years later, after everything life has thrown at me, I’ve returned with 13 Summers Later. A hell of a lot has happened in between, and all those experiences have found their way into my music. I’ve spent years building a career in hospitality, events and entertainment, creating experiences and working with people. Along the way, I’ve experienced love, heartbreak, loss, change and some pretty difficult moments that have shaped the person I am today. Music has always given me somewhere to put those feelings and tell my story. 13 Summers Later brings together different sides of me through soul, pop, R&B and reggae. Soulmate is about finding your person, your partner and your ride or die for life. It’s about being there for each other, even when life gets difficult. Love2HateYa brings the summer energy and groove, while Outside In explores a more reflective side of me. One of the most personal parts of the EP is Autumn XIII XVI, which reflects the period when my dad became ill, I lost my voice, moved away and eventually lost him in October 2016. That experience will always be part of my story, and putting it into music has allowed me to express something that words alone can struggle to explain. For me, this isn’t about trying to recreate who I was in 2013. It’s about embracing everything that’s happened since, finding my way back to music and finally sharing these stories with the world. I’m 40 now, I’ve lived a bit, learned a lot, made mistakes, experienced incredible highs and some difficult lows, but I’m still here, still creating and still chasing something that means a lot to me. 13 Summers Later is exactly what the title says. Thirteen years of life turned into music, and the beginning of another chapter that I’m excited to share.
