Emerging from Riga onto the modern music scene, AkopyanBand is a group that blends blues rock, funk, soul, and contemporary pop into a powerful, emotional, and unmistakable sound. The Latvian band is rapidly attracting attention with its charismatic stage presence, original material, and vibrant live energy — where the sensuality of blues meets the drive of rock music, and classical vocal training collides with true rock’n’roll freedom. At the heart of the band is vocalist Yana Akopyan, with a rare deep vocal tone and professionally trained opera singer. This unique combination gives AkopyanBand’s music depth, drama, and emotional intensity, setting the group apart from today’s alternative music scene. AkopyanBand is more than just a musical project — it is a creative union where every member shapes the spirit and identity of the band. Guitarist Vladislav Altukhov creates the musical foundation of the group through riffs, arrangements, and the signature dynamics of their songs. Jana’s brother Araik Meshkauskas writes a significant part of the lyrics, filling the music with personal experiences, inner conflicts, and raw emotion. The rest of the musicians contribute their own energy, experience, and individuality, turning every performance into a genuine emotional dialogue with the audience. The band’s core philosophy is simple: “Music should captivate — not just politely please.” That is why the AkopyanBand does not create “safe background music.” Their songs are built on emotion, passion, freedom, honesty, and the intensity of living in the moment. The band actively performs at concert venues across Riga and is currently working on a full-length album. Among their latest releases is the single “Like a Young Boy”, recorded entirely with live instruments and without synthetic sounds or digital imitation.
