L'histoire
tkawai is an independent instrumental electronic music artist based in Tokyo, Japan. Between 1985 and 1994, tkawai composed and recorded a collection of original electronic pieces, many of which remained largely unreleased. In 2026, these early musical ideas were revisited and reimagined using contemporary digital production technologies. The resulting albums, HUMAN INSIDE and HUMAN B-SIDE, blend experimental electronica, distinctive synthesizer textures, unconventional melodies, subtle jazz influences, and touches of Japanese kawaii aesthetics. The music moves between playful electronic rhythms, atmospheric soundscapes, and unexpected melodic ideas. Short, strange, and somehow nostalgic.
